When you have a Santa Cruz guitar, which is the "Rolls-Royce" of guitars in my opinion, you should put the best strings on it and use picks that bring out the best of your guitar. I have been using Santa Cruz Parabolic Tension strings on all of my guitars for years and no other string beats the tone and feel of these. The pick is equally important in bringing the best out of your guitar. I will check these out. 🙂

I absolutely love santacruz im almost ready to sell my vintage Martin gear to aquire my last missing piece a beautiful 1934 om Brazilian for the love of God you guys are killing me with your wizardry id said I wouldn't sell anything vintage well ladies and gentlemen I sold most i have several of your guitars a beautiful short scale Adirondack mahogany Brazilian appointments hide glue which replaced my Martin d18 thought i would miss it but this om is everything my dred was and more everything in a small package perfect your h13 fortross maple back and sides replaced my 0021 now I need courage to sell my 1968d35s Brazilian unless you can take it apart and use the wood to make a new one then I would not miss anything .from the bottom of my heart I couldn't be happier with my decision to sell my vintage for your guitars one more to go and to me that says it all well done thank you honestly I don't reach for the vintage Martin's much

The reason i bought these lovely guitars is to sound different then anyone else santacruz has a way of voicing there guitars to unique tonal spectrum that is perfect for a singer song writer like myself I've been playing guitar since I was 9 years old im 63 now. And it has taken me this long to finely find the tone and feel Iwas searching for you know it when you hear it couldn't be happier thanks team may your vision never stop thanks for sharing your gift of building instruments to the next generation your the man thank you Richard and team we never meet but it feels like we been life long friends. If you have the ability to obtain one of these, don’t hesitate. This is my SC 000 Fort Ross Chapel Redwood/African Blackwood purchased last year from Northern Lights Music. It took some time to come alive but the tone and sustain are like nothing else in my collection. And I strongly recommend Northern Lights Music.

There is something magical about the African Blackwood/ redwood combination. This F with A/B and the famous Lucky Strike redwood is one of my most cherished pieces from Santa Cruz
Carolyn Sills and I designed Guiness over the phone on a warm sunny day....I was sitting on a beach in in Bonita Springs Florida and talking with Carolyn on the Cell phone...we laughed..dreamed ...and Carolyn said "I'll ask Richard "...a year later ...Brenda says to me...Don't ever sell the African Blackwood...we are not going to see that wood again...thanks Brenda...I'll take that advice.
If it's at all like my 000 AB/Moon Spruce it will be exceptional...The Redwood must sound very rich....congrats on another beautiful sonic creation.
Sounds lovely…but why is it that so very many guitar makers just cannot deliver the full range of frequencies from a guitar? Taylors sound so wrong, Lowdens sound muted…etc etc
This guitar sounds like a vintage Martin at least 25 years old…mind you, a lot of it is how it’s being played…ie with a very clean left and right hand.

I have a Santa Cruz OM from the 90's. Cocobola back and sides, German spruce. wonderful. Then, a couple years ago the truss rod pushed through the back of the neck. Santa Cruz quoted me 3300. Then they told me they would not be able to do it for over a year and a half, but would contact me. They never contacted me and ignored all my emails. I was then fortunate to encounter one of the true great guitar makers still alive ( who live is California and knows Richard) and he kindly agreed to repair the guitar. Bottom line to my experience. A wonderful guitar. The company, not so great.
"What stands out most is how little I knew, and how small the circle was. There were a few publications, like Mugwumps, or material from the Denver Folklore Center, but no internet, no quick communication. If you wanted to ask another builder a question, you sent a letter and waited days for a reply."

Never ever will I give negative comments on a Martin, Taylor, Larrivee or any other brand of great guitar builders. Love you all and everyone has their own preferences, as it should be.
That being said, as a vintage guitar lover, player and collectionor, I have only 1 non vintage guitar and I LOVE this gem. My Santa Cruz OO is my go to guitar for guitar lessons, recordings, practicing, gigging..., she´s enormously inspiring and the only modern guitar I personally need. Thanx everyone at Santa Cruz!

Unique headstock inlays are my favorite passion in building. My signature model guitar had flying snakes designed and cut from mother of pearl by my artist girlfriend at that time. Morgen is her new name. It used to be 'Jenny'. All three of my original proto-types feature a unique hand made inlay.

I own 2 Santa Cruz guitars.... A '95 OM & a '97 TONY RICE. I elected NOT to put pickups in these 2 guitars. I recently did some video recording and used both and they sounded amazing just with a Sure SM57 in front of the guitars

I look forward to receiving the custom Vintage Jumbo I ordered a couple of weeks ago from my local guitar shop, Meadowood Music. The whole process of this build was a lot of fun and I appreciate even more now what Santa Cruz Guitar Company is all about. It's not just about an expensive guitar. The conservation efforts, the ethos of the company, the skill and methods of how these heirloom pieces are built are just incredible . I can't wait for it to come in the next several months. 🙂

This happened to me two weeks ago!! I was not even remotely looking to buy another guitar. I had 11 including two from Santa Cruz. Then I saw Santa Cruz post that they had just shipped a H/13 Custom - Redwood & Macassar Ebony to Eddie's Guitars. I immediately new it would be mine. A week later it arrived. The sound, the feel, the look; all exceeded my expectations.

When you have a Santa Cruz guitar, which is the "Rolls-Royce" of guitars in my opinion, you should put the best strings on it and use picks that bring out the best of your guitar. I have been using Santa Cruz Parabolic Tension strings on all of my guitars for years and no other string beats the tone and feel of these. The pick is equally important in bringing the best out of your guitar. I will check these out. 🙂

I absolutely love santacruz im almost ready to sell my vintage Martin gear to aquire my last missing piece a beautiful 1934 om Brazilian for the love of God you guys are killing me with your wizardry id said I wouldn't sell anything vintage well ladies and gentlemen I sold most i have several of your guitars a beautiful short scale Adirondack mahogany Brazilian appointments hide glue which replaced my Martin d18 thought i would miss it but this om is everything my dred was and more everything in a small package perfect your h13 fortross maple back and sides replaced my 0021 now I need courage to sell my 1968d35s Brazilian unless you can take it apart and use the wood to make a new one then I would not miss anything .from the bottom of my heart I couldn't be happier with my decision to sell my vintage for your guitars one more to go and to me that says it all well done thank you honestly I don't reach for the vintage Martin's much

This is my Santa Cruz OMC Grand Custom, I really love it ❤️
I received my custom VJ from the fine owners if Meadowood Music, and it is absolutely sublime! The craftsmanship, tonal quality, resonance, and sustain are everything I hoped for with this guitar. The sycamore binding really is above and beyond what I expected. I was nothing but smiles when I played it and I am very, very happy. Thank you to the entire Santa Cruz team for building me this absolutely beautiful guitar. It is one of the good ones! 🙂

Love mine .Thank you Richard hover and team, custom short scale om Adirondack mahogany and a h13 fortross top maple back and sides 🍁 thanks boys and girls for a lifetime commitment of making some of the finest instruments on the planet .I have some nice vintage Martin's that everyone is familiar with tone wise from the early 60s ,what i Love about santacruz is they are handbuilt with hide glue to a masterclass level of perfection. The reason i bought these lovely guitars is to sound different then anyone else santacruz has a way of voicing there guitars to unique tonal spectrum that is perfect for a singer song writer like myself I've been playing guitar since I was 9 years old im 63 now. And it has taken me this long to finely find the tone and feel Iwas searching for you know it when you hear it couldn't be happier thanks team may your vision never stop thanks for sharing your gift of building instruments to the next generation your the man thank you Richard and team we never meet but it feels like we been life long friends. You get me .may the wind be at your backs and sun in your face. Santa Cruz ROCKS!
If you have the ability to obtain one of these, don’t hesitate. This is my SC 000 Fort Ross Chapel Redwood/African Blackwood purchased last year from Northern Lights Music. It took some time to come alive but the tone and sustain are like nothing else in my collection. And I strongly recommend Northern Lights Music.

There is something magical about the African Blackwood/ redwood combination. This F with A/B and the famous Lucky Strike redwood is one of my most cherished pieces from Santa Cruz
Carolyn Sills and I designed Guiness over the phone on a warm sunny day....I was sitting on a beach in in Bonita Springs Florida and talking with Carolyn on the Cell phone...we laughed..dreamed ...and Carolyn said "I'll ask Richard "...a year later ...Brenda says to me...Don't ever sell the African Blackwood...we are not going to see that wood again...thanks Brenda...I'll take that advice.
If it's at all like my 000 AB/Moon Spruce it will be exceptional...The Redwood must sound very rich....congrats on another beautiful sonic creation.
Sounds lovely…but why is it that so very many guitar makers just cannot deliver the full range of frequencies from a guitar? Taylors sound so wrong, Lowdens sound muted…etc etc This guitar sounds like a vintage Martin at least 25 years old…mind you, a lot of it is how it’s being played…ie with a very clean left and right hand.

I wrote to an SCGC dealer in Hawaii back in the early 2000’s as a poor student in New Zealand. Asked if there’s an easier way for me to get my hands on a Triple-O. I still have the guitar today with me. Flown next to me across three continents. Not just for the quality of the instrument, but because of the good people that stand behind the name. It’s the longest relationship I’ve ever had, haha!

I own a 2001 Maple/German F Cutaway . IMHO Santa Cruz Guitar Company uses Maple like no other builder....I string mine with SCGC lights and am very happy with the Sonics.

Indeed, acoustic guitar-wise, my search ended in 2018 when I bought a 1990 Santa Cruz model H with Koa back and sides. Perfect sound perfect fit for me! No intention to change.

Every time I pick the guitar up I compliment my good judgement for buying it some 35 years ago -- and yes, I compared it to everything else in the room at Mandolin Brothers.

I have a Santa Cruz OM from the 90's. Cocobola back and sides, German spruce. wonderful. Then, a couple years ago the truss rod pushed through the back of the neck. Santa Cruz quoted me 3300. Then they told me they would not be able to do it for over a year and a half, but would contact me. They never contacted me and ignored all my emails. I was then fortunate to encounter one of the true great guitar makers still alive ( who live is California and knows Richard) and he kindly agreed to repair the guitar. Bottom line to my experience. A wonderful guitar. The company, not so great.

Never ever will I give negative comments on a Martin, Taylor, Larrivee or any other brand of great guitar builders. Love you all and everyone has their own preferences, as it should be. That being said, as a vintage guitar lover, player and collectionor, I have only 1 non vintage guitar and I LOVE this gem. My Santa Cruz OO is my go to guitar for guitar lessons, recordings, practicing, gigging..., she´s enormously inspiring and the only modern guitar I personally need. Thanx everyone at Santa Cruz!

Unique headstock inlays are my favorite passion in building. My signature model guitar had flying snakes designed and cut from mother of pearl by my artist girlfriend at that time. Morgen is her new name. It used to be 'Jenny'. All three of my original proto-types feature a unique hand made inlay.

I own 2 Santa Cruz guitars.... A '95 OM & a '97 TONY RICE. I elected NOT to put pickups in these 2 guitars. I recently did some video recording and used both and they sounded amazing just with a Sure SM57 in front of the guitars

I look forward to receiving the custom Vintage Jumbo I ordered a couple of weeks ago from my local guitar shop, Meadowood Music. The whole process of this build was a lot of fun and I appreciate even more now what Santa Cruz Guitar Company is all about. It's not just about an expensive guitar. The conservation efforts, the ethos of the company, the skill and methods of how these heirloom pieces are built are just incredible . I can't wait for it to come in the next several months. 🙂

This happened to me two weeks ago!! I was not even remotely looking to buy another guitar. I had 11 including two from Santa Cruz. Then I saw Santa Cruz post that they had just shipped a H/13 Custom - Redwood & Macassar Ebony to Eddie's Guitars. I immediately new it would be mine. A week later it arrived. The sound, the feel, the look; all exceeded my expectations.
